At some point, you may need to remove your blinds. Whether it’s for cleanings, repair, or replacement, removing the shade itself can get tricky. Avoiding damages is key in saving yourself time and money.

By removing the blind yourself, you can save even more money on the cost of paying a professional to do it for you. In addition, you’ll have the knowledge to remove it or re-install it for future reference.

Need to remove a standard cellular honeycomb shade for cleaning or repair? Watch this video for step-by-step instructions.

We have a standard cellular or honeycomb-style shade that we’re going to be removing.

First, we want to get the fabric up out of our way and identify where the brackets are.

We have one bracket and two brackets. We need to loosen the set screws, but not remove them entirely.

It only takes a couple of turns with the screwdriver. Then you want to grab the shade and kind of wiggle it out of the brackets.
